Confirmed Signing Youssef Chermiti

Saying this small delay to an otherwise pretty smooth transfer MIGHT not be the club's fault because the player has a non-professional agent isn't defending the hierarchy of the club mate. Terrible decisions have been made at board / owner level for years and that has ripped us apart. They are two very different points. The problems at this club are far above the pay grade of the people involved in the administration of transfers.
Totally agree, I just find it baffling that the people at the top either don't see it or don't care. I like us all want change, want better but it feels further away than ever.

The longest medical in history -

Youssef Chermiti will undergo his Everton medical on Wednesday (9 August) ahead of a £14.9m move to Goodison Park, reports Alan Myers.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (9 August), the Sky Sports reporter says the Portuguese striker will finally undergo his medical tests with the Toffees after all terms were agreed for a transfer.

Chermiti will become the third signing of the summer after Arnaut Danjuma joined on a season-long loan from Villarreal, while Ashley Young signed on a free transfer after leaving Aston Villa.

I thought it was the other way round, mate. Before you only had to get a permit for non-EU players, now it's non-UK?

I know that's how it works for us normal folk and Right to Work, anyway.
Think it's a requirement since Brexit for new applicants. Those who were already working here pre 2020 were given a free pass. The issuance of a work permit is pretty much a given for players who are deemed to be internationals for their own country and/or are regulars playing at a top tier club in Europe. Below that level, and especially for younger players, it's quite a bit more subjective (points system).

Think there's also an annual restriction on the number of young players you can apply for.

I mean you'd think that'd be one of the first questions that would have been considered wouldn't you? "Does this kid need a work permit?".
He also will need a full Portuguese passport. Can no longer get into UK on any EU national identity card.
I wonder if they've thought of that too?
