Mate, that film, Kick Ass. Quality,

It struck me that not as many people saw that film as I thought. Everyone I watched it with was suprised at how good it was, as they thought they had it sussed from the title and the opening sequence. Banger of a film.

Salt was also suprisingly good. Lot's of unexpected twists. not bad.

My top film of this year is hands down "Machete". Epic film. So good.

Got Machete ready to watch in HD. Might watch it later now you've praised it. Love that grind kind of film.

Salt was fantastically well-acted, and although it petered out towards the end a bit, the plot twists and action were gripping. Kick-Ass made me smile more than any actual comedy has this year, as it was just a pure blast from start to finish. That little girl is ace, and surely has a big career ahead of her.

I did enjoy The Blind Side....

I reckon I went to the cinema once this year, mad. And that was for Toy Story! Ha.

Still not seen Kick Ass, I was hoping it would pop up on Lovefilm, but sadly not. Didn't see Inception either, but I will soon

It appears I've watched nothing other than FOTC and Peep Show this year. Must try harder in 2011

When she's playing with the knives...."look daddy look, you're not looking..."

quality.

If you have Machete ready to go on HD, defo watch it as soon as mate. It's got that Deathproof / Planet Terror feel, with most of the cast from either El Mariachi, Desperado or Dusk Til Dawn. You've gotta listen to the little jokes and stuff though. I thought it was hilarious.

+ Steven Siegal is in it.

Haha. I've spent half the year watching FOTC, over and over again. Peep Show's ace too, although this latest season is probably the worst yet. Still good, just not great.

Is it me or has this year been piss poor for films?

I think there's been a lack of good comedies especially, and in terms of quantity, not as many stellar films as I've come to expect.

However the best films of the year (The Social Network, Black Swan, Kick-Ass etc) were truly fantastic films, that I'll remember for years to come.

Only films I've enjoyed that were (probably) released this year have been...

We Are What We Are
A Serbian Film (and when I say enjoyed.. I mean in a WHATTHEF*CKAMIWATCHINGARGHHHHHH kind of way)
Dogtooth ( i think it was this year, i saw it recently anyways)
Inception
Black Venus

Dogtooth was last year, but God that film was good. Disgustingly sick, but utterly absorbing and fascinating.

Forgot about that. That was a really good film, and made me warm to Mark Wahlberg. I never used to like him, but he's shown a good sense of humour, and a bit of diversity in his acting, with films like that, and I Heart Huckabees is another one too.
