Your playing football manager, what positions would you target to improve the squad?

flog - heitinga, fellaini, gueye, naismith, hibbert, mucha.

.......................................................howard...............................................................

coleman.........................jags................................lescott....................................baines

mirallas........................gibson...................................fer...................................pienaar

.........................................................kone................................................................

........................................................jelavic...............................................................

subs - given, anichebe, oviedo, osman, stones, barkley, distin........i'd be very happy with that!

I would edit the cash and then build this squad :

We would win stuff.

Xavi Prieto, Real Sociedad as right winger. 29 though so I'm going to get shouted down on that one. He's captain aswell so might be difficult to get him. Iago Aspas is a good little stirker at Celta De Vigo. Fast, skillful and has already scored 10 goals in a pretty poor team.

Two decent players in each position (3 keepers):

GK - Howard, Mucha (ideally would like to bring in a good young keeper)

DR - Coleman, Neville (not good enough), Hibbert (reluctantly not good enough) new RB needed (maybe John Stones?)
DL - Baines, Oviedo (undecided but not a priority for replacement), Garbutt (untested)
DC - Jagielka, Distin (ageing but probably has one more season in him), Heitinga (Could still turn it around but not the player he was last season), Duffy (untested) new CB needed

MR - Mirallas, Naismith (not good enough) new MR needed
ML - Pienaar, Gueye (not good enough), Kennedy (?) new ML needed
CM/DM (x2) - Gibson, Osman, Hitzelsperger (not good enough), Junior (untested) 2 new CM/DM needed
AM - Fellaini, Barkley

ST - Jelavic, Anichebe, Velios (all can be decent, all have long spells of 0 goals) new ST needed

In summary, we need 1 x GK, 1 x RB, 1 x CB, 1 x MR, 1 x ML, 2 x CM, 1 x ST.

Shouldn't be a problem should it?!

A new MR and ST is enough to get to CL the first season, Sell Fellaini, Neville out to save wages.
I usually get Joaquin, Iker Muniain(ST, loan) and/or Gerard Deulofeu.

With the CL money: Moutinho, Ter Stegen and sign Iker Muniain.
Oh and Gueye is boss on FM, so don't sell him.

Too bad it wouldn't work outside the game tho..

YES! Theoretical thread!!!

I wouldn't buy anyone, we are skint!

Going to get shot down for this but,
with the fellaini money (30mil) the Fer money (8mil) and the new tv money we COULD/SHOULD have about £40mil this summer.
OK, it wont happen but, on paper it adds up.

Well first off we'll have Rooney back so we won't need AMC.*

Way easier to find D R/L and M R/L in FM than in real life unfortunately but one of each would be nice.

Sorry to be a bit Moyes-y but we really need a DC (perhaps above everything else).

By that logic we'd actually have around 58 million ... of course we won't.

*It's a FM dream thread ... leave me alone!

Dont forget we have around 13m left from Jan, plus 30 T.V money. I reckon well get about 15m to start off with.

Out: Fellaini, 25m approx, Heitinga, 2.5m, Gueye, 2m, release Neville and Hitz.

In: Junior Malanda 2.5m, Fer 8m, Adam Maher 7m, Sinpclair 7m, Bruno Martins Indi, 10m, Pitriopa (free), Haangeland (free)

We'd get 3rd place with that like.

Need to find a replacement for Gibson. Thats not to say get rid of him just plan to work around his many and often crippling injury spells. No point planning for him to play all 38 games in a league season.
Anyone know how long Valencia has left at ManU?
If Lescott could be got back for about £5mill that would be good business.

We have the core of a good squad but one or two are mid 30's now and some are approaching it. If Moyes is staying for another 5 year plan then getting players in to settle into the side as others retire is the name of the game.
