Alright lads and lasses

I would like if possible some (sensible) opinions on the following:

I am a mature student (33) going to university in September to study to be a child nurse. I had my own business until not long ago, a sole trader in construction and got fed up of it. I was doing ok financially in fact everything was sound apart from I wasn't happy not using my brain (I think I knew the job too well, there was no challenge)

So without going into all the details I am doing an access to higher education course and going uni in september to do the degree.

I told this to someone the other day and they had a go saying I was weird! bearing in mind I have two daughters (7 & 10) have a valid CRB/DBS check done by the NHS and volunteer one day a week on our local children's intensive care ward helping out for experience.

My question is how would you feel if a 33 year old man is the nurse looking after your sick young daughter or son as it is generally a female orientated environment?

Thanks

G

My step daughter is going into hospital a week tomorrow to get tests on brain tumors and happens to have a male
nurse as part of the team dealing with the problem Im more thn happy to havehis support

Certain members of a community might have a problem, but any sane rational person wouldn't be arsed in the slightest.

My brother is a nurse I would trust him and his colleagues, male or female, with my life and the lives of those closest to me without hesitation. Nurses are people there may be the odd wrong 'un about, as in any profession, but I prefer to have faith in people.

Hope that helps.

I would find it weird mate sorry, would appreciate your work but I wouldn't sleep at night with worry.

that's just me though so don't let that stop you!

Probably the same as if my young son was being sent to scouts and this was his Scout Master:

... would be completely fine with it.
