Your Most Disappointing Gig

My first experience was in my younger days, I sneaked into the Moonstone (think it was called that) and I was the same come out with impaired hearing. And a fear of hairy a***d bikers :)
The Moonstone ! lol, in St.Johns precinct, Clayton square side. They used to put bands on in The Sportsman as well ( that was the other side it became Quinns in the 80's).Most disappointing gig , The Pierces at the uni. walked out after 4 songs.

The worst
Pogues 2009 - you expect Shane to be wasted, but on this occasion he was singing a different song to the rest of the band and ended up falling off stage. Shame to see a genius in such a bad way. Luckily they were boss the next year.

Close runner up
Bob Dylan 2011 - really hard work. A lot of people pretending they 'got it' but it was like Dylan was sticking two fingers up to the crowd. I'll let him off though.

I don't think I have ever been to a gig that was a true bummer but I suppose there have been some where you were really looking forward to it and while it was ok, it was all a bit flat.....ZZ Top at Milton Keynes Bowl c.1990 for one. So choreographed to the split second it looked robotic and killed any sense of spontaneity.

Wilco at Shepherds Bush Empire in 1997. Jeff Tweedy famously stopped playing and announced that all of us in the audience were 'snotty Brits' or 'snobs' or something, because no one was getting into it. The lack of response was actually because he and his band were absolute tosh.

Oasis at Knebworth. They were awful.Liam just stood there snarling and whining.

Fortunately The Prodigy and The Charlatans were ace and saved the day.

But... isn't that a legendary gig, and also one of their last? I don't understand :(
The sound wasn't great, the wind and rain didn't help, also a good bit of sporadic fighting going on in the crowd. Think some lad got his ear bitten off! But over all it just wasn't a great day out, I wouldn't of been queens biggest fan, we were just going to any festivals/gigs that were around at the time.

Fair enough really.

Van Morrison at Killyleagh Castle some years ago he was grumpier than usual, Jackson Browne owned the stage in comparison!
I have seen Van the Man five times twice he has been grumpy as hell not even interacting the audience.

Prodigy at Glastonbury in '97. Was pathetically quiet and they got the arse with the crowd shouting "Turn it up" and stormed off for half an hour before coming back in a foul temper and were still quiet. [Poor language removed] off to watch Massive Attack, who were mint.

Primal Scream at Reading in '95. They were going through their Stones tribute act phase and butchered most of their best stuff. Got bored and spent their set wandering around the arena getting arseholed and setting fire to things.
You owe me a tent you 'kin pyromaniac!!
