Ross stalled on his contract as before he signed, he wanted assuring captaincy would be his after Jags. Money wasn't the issue.

Koeman told him in no uncertain terms he would NOT be club captain after Jagielka. Was told Coleman earmarked for the job long-term even with the leg break and Schneiderlin/Williams to share it if Jagielka doesn't play this season.

Barkley thrown the toys out of the pram and not signed it.

Koeman knows that Barkley loves Everton and says "sign by end of the season or you'll be sold" thinking that he'll just sign it. Tough love and all that.

Barkley has allegedly signed already. Koeman/Walsh using him as a smokescreen so other clubs will target him instead of competing with us for our targets.
