YOUR GREATEST MERSEYSIDE DERBY MEMORY

Remember the Screensport Super Cup ?.... when we shouldve been lifting the european cup. There was so little interest that the 2nd leg of the final was in the following season.

20,000 at the pit then 26,000 at our place, they won 3-1 there and 4-1 at ours..... feckin big nose rush was at it again in both legs, unlike Jim Beglin who if memory serves me correct, left our place with 1 leg and a bag of bones, real crunch tackle that if he hadnt got crocked shaggy stevens would've.

For some reason i thought Cottee got a hatrick as well, would have lost money on Hinchcliffe being in that team too. It stands out out as i remember Dalglish jacking it in the next day or in and about.

The Cup Final with McCall and Rush was a great game as well, but we lost it in the end, for sheer excitement during, those to really stand out in my memory - was but a nipper though.

he jacked after the next replay that we won didn't he ?

JUST LIKE THE LAST TIME LETS FINISH HIM OFF !!

Jesus mate you have there! But i remember big nose always scoring against us - it was like a contract obligation.

Greatest in terms of magnitude was Moyes on Clattenburg. Rarely do managers get away with inferring a referee is a corrupt piece of inbred scum, but Moyes did.

KKK having to take some leave after being pegged back 4 - 4. Legend? My ass!

Rooney (17yo) getting super tough guy Gerrard by the throat after the Naysmith assault.

The Gosling replays on ITV because the nation except the northwest had the goal cut off - so it was replayed every news break for days.

Wow, that takes me back Reidy, I'd forgotten all about that crap cup. I went to both legs, regretted both.

Pretty certain I went to both, we played about 5 derbies in 2 months, I think it was cancelled as it was due to be played close to the cup final and they were worried it might make for a crap FA Cup if we'd met on the wednesday, so they played the 2nd game in sept. I deffo know I went to that one. After we'd played them in the charity shield.

Remember we had a ****load of players out at the time, therefore players like Billinge, Langley, Aspinall and Adams played......the RS may have won the SSSC but WE WON THE LEAGUE (y)

same for me wait so long to beat them.

Agreed. They still have the Indian sign over us but it had been a long 7 years since we'd beat them and they had come through as the dominant team in English football. Supporting Everton is a breeze these days compared to the pain from 73 to 84.

theres been a few Sharps goal, the 4-4 fa cup game, does anyone remember Wyane Clarkes winner in the 80's
the first derby game that i came over from ireland was the game Everton won 2-1 Mo Johnston and Beardsleys winner
it was a wednesday night game

but i think the best one was the FA CUP Semil final win in 2012 with Jelavic brace and Gibsons cracker in the 3 nil win
