Some of you may have seen the adverts sky have got going as they are celebrating 20 years of Sky Sports. They are showing some of their greatest moments from the last 20 years, but what are yours, my contenders.....

Ashes 2005

article-0-032824D50000044D-386_468x541.jpg

I was glued the whole summer to this, i was 18 and going on my first lads holiday that year. Was a great time to be a cricket fan. The country was cricket mad for a glorious summer!

Usain Bolt - Beijing Olympics 2008

lrg-685-usain-bolt-world-record-olympics-win.jpg

Two new world-records in the 100m & 200m, truly amazing to witness. The records may never be beaten and it was a joy to see true sporting greatness.

Goran Ivanisevic Winning Wimbledon 2001

IVANISEVIC_G_20010709_NF_L.jpg

The first ever wildcard to win Wimbledon. So passionate and dignified when he won, a remarkable moment for me when he won, was cheering him all the way.

Ireland Winning Six Nations & Grand Slam 2009

Now, i'm not the biggest Rugby fan, but i was made up when the Irish won their first Grand Slam in 61 years. The country was buzzing and many in Ireland's most eastern city, Liverpool, we're also celebrating.

I've missed a load but there are some of my favs, what are yours?

Definately agree with you on the 2005 Ashes, I didn't get much sleep that winter (over here)!

Euro '96 would be a highlight for me, I was living in England then, and the place was well and truly in the spirit! Back then we actually had a decent team, Shearer belting them in for fun, Gazza with THAT goal (take that Chico!), and the heartbreak of losing again to Ze Germans on penalties.

Another moment, maybe not as big but special and sticks in the memory, was Beckham's penalty against Argentina in 2002. The utter joy on his face, the redemption, was quite emotional to be honest. I always felt he had been given a damn rough deal 4 years earlier.

Might be a bit early to chuck in this year's Ashes tour, but it's going the right way too!

Right here goes mine.

West Germany v England 1990.

England v Germany 1996.

Argentina v England 1998.

England v Romania 2000.

Brazil v England 2002.

Portugal v England 2004.

England v Portugal 2006.

Germany v England 2010.

All, great moments.

Euro'96 England 4-1 Holland. I had a real belief England could win something in my life time.

Ayrton Senna. any moment but this one in particular, especially in an extremely selfish sport

I almost had a heart attack during this game. I think I stopped breathing for a couple minutes.

USA vs Slovenia 2010. USA was down 2-0 and came back to tie 2-2

Redskins vs Cowboys 2005. Redskins were down 13-0 with 5 min remaining in the game and the Skins scored two back to back touchdowns in quick succession to win 14-13. (video below)

Redskins vs Cowboys 2006. The game was tied at 19 with 13 seconds remaining. Dallas was attempting a field goal to take the lead, but it was blocked by the Redskins and returned by Sean Taylor (RIP) who, with the help of a penalty, got the ball into field goal range for the skins. We made the field goal with no time remaining and won the game 22-19. (video below)

1989 Wild Card:

Steelers 26 Houston 23 (OT). Even with all the success the Steelers had over the years this team was my favorite. In games 1-2 we were outscored 92-10. People were talking about an 1-15 season even the owner said realistically we can't say we're going to be say a 9-7 team. Well we finished 9-7, and had to go to Houston to face a much more talented Oiler team. We managed to hold them to FGs early and got the game in OT. Houston won the flip and were driving for the win when Woodson got his helmet on the ball and forced a fumble. Gary Anderson then nailed a 50 yarder to win it.

The next game we lost 24-23 to the Broncos (the merril hoge game) in what would have been a huge upset. Lost in that game was that Bubby was on fire and completely outplayed Elway.

1993

WVU 17 Miami 14 - Miami was #3 and we were #9 undefeated and they were coming into Morgantown. We got a late 4th quarter TD to seal the victory. Attendence was 71,000. Stadium capacity was 55K.

WVU 17 Boston College 14. One week later we had to play #9 Boston College in Boston. Even though we beat Miami and were 10-0 BC wins the conference if they beat us. BC was hot winners of 9 straight and a win over No.1 Notre Dame the week before. The beat us down and we were down 14-3 with 5 minutes left. We got 2 quick scores and an INT to seal the victory and a undefeated regular season.

2007
Pitt 28 Virginia Tech 24 - VT was ranked #3 and Pitt was #18 and on the road. VT threatened to blow Pitt out early going up 14-3 and had a 1st and goal. Pitt forced a fumble and slowly took over the game. With a few seconds left Pitt scored a TD to win it, what was so great about it was that Pitt always blew these kind of games (sadly they still do).

1999 MAC Championship

Marshall 34 Western Michigan 30 - Marshall was 11-0 and ranked No.12. Its strange to think now but Marshall wouldn't have even went to a bowl game if they lost this one. WMU promptly went up 23-3 in the 3rd and Marshall went on a furious comeback capping it with a TD pass from Pennington with 5 sec left.

Although I was a fully fledged Everton sprog at the time, Gazza's goal against Scotland in Euro '96 was the first time I ever stood up and really started to like football.

Australia v Uruguay, our WC qualifying game won on penalties.

Steve Waugh in 2003 Ashes Test.

Not the biggest rugby fan, and surprising that this is my number 1, but just think it touched a lot of people

I remember him shouting "I've won the World Cup, I've won the World Cup!" Brilliant school boy celebration

Watching at 8 in the morning was it or something with my old house mate, made a real effort with breakfast etc, it was just gripping stuff!!! Sadly can't remember many like that in football. Beating Holland 4-1 was a top top day, and the Germany 5-1 game, but I guess it's this for me
