1995/96 or 2007/08

95/96 was my first full season I can remember but wasn’t going many matches as a kid one but the excitement after the cup win was boss although only did one or two a season back then, but 07/08 I didn’t miss many back then and always think that uefa cup should of been ours
Well if we got passed Fiorentina, then it would've been PSV Eindhoven, an ordinary enough Rangers team and then a Zenit St Petersburg team we already beat in the final.

Yep that really was one that got away for sure. That 2007 to 2009 Everton team was good, but not quite good enough in the end sadly.

For me 08/09 season was my favourite, because that was last time, I thought that players gave, their 100% for club and we couldn't ask for any more off them. We had Jags, Arteta, Yakubu, Anichebe and Jo missing for FA cup final. We got beaten by the better sude that day. 07/08, could of been great season , should of taken chances against Fiorentina, Lescott somehow letting SWP, outjump him to score, simply unforgivable. Martinezs first season was overrated in my opinion, losing to Sunderland and Palace at home, drawing to baggies at home. You can't praise Martinez for nearly getting into Top 4. RS don't praise Rodgers and Benitez for nearly winning league.

Martinez first season for me was the most fun until we ran out of steam at the end of it

Unfortunately though we got progressively worse the longer he was there because Moyes well drilled defence was taken apart in favour of tippy tapping it round the back and creating nothing

Martinez was really bad at setting up teams to win football matches and was carried massively by some superb signings (Lukaku/Barry), Barkley breaking through and inheriting a really solid Moyes team.

Not one manager under our ‘wasting loads of money’ era did anything to deserve it and I’m excited to see what Moyes will do this summer with the burden of previously seasons seemingly over.

That 2013/14 team got helped along by about 15 wonder goals, all exactly when they were needed. It was not sustainable.

It was much harder to follow the PL from America in the 2000s, but I would have loved to see those 07-08 and 08-09 teams as they were playing.

84/85 for those of us old enough to remember and be there. Joy to watch with some dodgy games that Big Nev sorted out for us.
3 days between ECWC (15th May) and FA Cup final (18th May) when the FA Cup final was our sixth game in the middle of May.
8 games a month in both March and April with some real massive games then the fixture pile up in May did us no favours at all.

Everyone at the FA Cup final could see that legs where gone and we couldn't step up a gear.
I was going to post that but you've done it for me. I remember how miserable I felt after the Cup Final loss, though. It took the edge of the League and ECWC wins. I think RS fans will be feeling the same today.

Martinez by a mile. We were joyous…and not afraid to take risks.

Of course, that’s because he had Moyes’s defence, but he proved Moyes was too conservative within 9 months.

Barkley, Deulofeu, Lukaku, Baines, Coleman, Jagielka…McGeady.

The end.

I would argue that it wasn't because Moyes was too conservative but more because he had a genuine top striker in Lukaku which we haven't had otherwise since the 80s. Rooney was thereabouts but the rest of the team were poor when he was coming through and when he came back he wasn't the same player

Of those it was definitely Martinez. Even in Martinez's next two seasons there were some games where we played some brilliant football, we just sadly could no longer do it consistently
