So, the idea is to make a starting XI, using any realistic formation, of the players you think have been the best performers in the PL this year. The catch is not to include any of the players that will no doubt make the crappy, predictable lists you see on SSN.

So, no Gareth Bale, Samir Nasri, Berbatov, Van Der Vaart etc etc. I'm talking players who won't get the recognition they deserve.

I'd go for:

Kingson
S.Carr Samba Distin Baines
Parker
Barton ------------- Brunt
Nolan
Van Persie Demba Ba

Kingson - I know Blackpool have conceded the most goals in the league, but every time I've watched him he's put on fantastic displays. To think, he's always been a third or fourth choice keeper... shame really, because this season at least, I think he's been fantastic.

Stephen Carr - Well he's half here because there's no good RBs in the league, and half here because I'm just surprised he's still going. He's been an important part in a Brum team that's won a trophy this year, and also one which hasn't conceded too many goals. Fair play.

Samba - I just think he's an absolute beast. Far, far, far too good for Blackburn.

Distin - He's been spectacular for 99% of the season, and has been our best defensive player. He won't get a mention anywhere outside of our club, though. Sadly.

Baines - The best fullback in the league. End of.

Barton - He's a tit, but he's probably right when he says he's the best English midfielder! He's got great skill and a wicked delivery.

Parker - Defensively, he's a beast, and his distribution is magnificent. But, his fight is incredible. He's single-handedly carried his team through this season, and I hope it's not in vain. He also seems about 100x more modest and down to earth than that toothy wankpot Adam, and the average footie player in general. I'd like to have him here.

Brunt - An absolute assist machine for another crap team. There's no way he'll not be sold in the summer, if WB go down. Even if they stay up he'll surely go. Similarly to Jarvis, he's a quality left sided player who is playing for a crap team.

Nolan - He's a massive tit of a man. I'd laugh if a tractor ran over his legs. But... ack. Excuse me while I go vomit...
Okay, well he's been really quite good. He's the 4th top scorer in the league (from midfield), and has managed to repeat his championship form in the PL. So, objectively speaking, he's pretty good. But still a blazing bellend.

Van Persie - I know he plays for Arsenal, but he never gets talked about in the same vein as the big name strikers. Injuries have no doubt wrecked his career, but in 18 PL apps since coming back from injury, he's score 12 times. That's mental.

Demba Ba - He's only just signed for West Ham, but I'm giving him a spot. I've seen him play a few times, and he looks 10x better than Cole, Pickeeeeon, Keane and the other one they've got (seriously, they've got a bigger strike force than us ffs). He's scored 4 times in 6 apps, and for a team as crap as West Ham, that's an accomplishment. He always looks like scoring, too. He's a beast of a man; tall, strong and willing to run. I can't believe Stoke didn't sign him when they had the chance.

I always rated Enrique, personally. He's very good going forward.

Using hard, cold, infallible science, I'd say he's 2.453% as good as Leighton Baines. Which makes him pretty good indeed.

GK: Paul Robinson-Was early good early in the year, anyway. I don't know if he's kept up his form or not to be honest.

RB: Chris Baird-Bit of a problem position to be honest but I like the lad and he's had a good season. Real Moyes type player I think, Tony Hibbert by another mother.

CB: Titus Bramble- It honestly annoys me quite a bit that he's still seen as a byword for bad defending when he's improved so much recently. Been one of the top 5 or 6 CBs in the country over the last two or three years for me.

CB: Johan Djourou- Arsenal have let in one less goal from Manchester United this season, which is pretty good going when you consider their back 5 is normally four clowns and Djourou. But this guy is up there with Vidic and Kompany for me.

LB: Leighton Baines-If you have to ask why, you haven't been paying attention.

LW: Charles N'Zogbia- Fine Player. Bit of a tit but a fine player.

CM: Kevin Nolan- Yeah, he pretty much has to be in here, **** though he is. Let's move on quickly though.

CM: Youssuf Mulumbu- Between him and Stuart Holden but Mulumbu's impressed me more. Been a rock in the West Brom midfield.

RW: Lee Chung-Yong- Have to have a Bolton player in here though and this guy looks class whenever I've seen him.

CF: Peter Odemwingie- Pretty much has to be here. 11 goals and counting in his debut season ain't bad at all even if he's missed some sitters along the way.

CF:Johan Elmander- Gone a bit quite recently but if Bale and Nasri can get plaudits based solely on their early season from so can this man. Scored an utterly wonderful goal against wolves.

I seriously considered putting Odemwingie in, like. He's been fantastic for WB. It's just that Demba Ba is becoming my new (non-Everton) favourite player

Can I hijack this thread and let you know my ultimate disappointing team of the season?

Thanks

Howard

Johnson
Lescott
Upson
Bridge

Gerrard
Pienaar
Hleb
Cole

Dzeko
Bendtner

I'd put Carlos Salcido at left back, with Odemwinge and Sturridge up front, the rest I shall have to think about.

Hennessey actually made some terrific saves against us, before letting in 3 beauts.

He's an awesome keeper, really. Great shout.
If he had saved Billy's shot he'd be missing an arm now anyway. Really he made a big difference at the result not being at least 5:0 (Beckford's header, Gueye's 1 on 1, a few other situations...).
