Fletch

Player Valuation: £5m
On newsnow, a French paper has reported Yobo may well leave this summer. Silly translation site I found says this... :)

In spite of a contract running until June, 2014 with Everton, one would decide on the Nigerian international central defender (29 years) to change air next summer.
The ancient native of Marseilles would notably appear on the bars of German clubs, among which Hamburg, and French

Nice transalation that, but we get the jist!

Everybody being fit and healthy, Yobo would struggle to get regular football at Everton I think.

I wish him well if he moves on. It was only 6 or 7 years ago that he was our best player and most valued asset.
How times have changed.

Anyway, it doesn't happen until it happens.

(If you go to the official site, you can read about it 2 weeks after it's happened!)

With everyone fit we would get fourth people, it would be a big decision to let Yobo go or not. If so I would hope for a young prospect CB to replace him, or perhaps Duffy could step up to the mark. Ah, now there is an idea. (y)

On this subject does anyobe think there may be a small clear out at Everton this summer. Wage bill will be worse than ever and players like Yobo, Vaughan, Ruddy,

Gotta pay for Peanuts increased wage bill somehow and you know we have a couple of players now who just simply won't make it at Everton.

I'm not on the bye bye Joey bandwagon yet.
We need a quality player to fight for both our center back positions, and Joseph Yobo on form is as good as Jags and Heitinga every day of the week, and has lots more to offer in his career.
It would have to be a very pricely sum for me to find reason to let him go.

I think we should sell Yobo, but only if there is a replacement lined up (Senderos? If he proves himself anyway). Nash looks like hes on his way out with Mucha coming in, but i really think we should keep onto Ruddy as he seems to be doing well for Motherwell. Having said that so is Jutkiewicz but i really havn't seen enough of him..

It's just so frustrating with Yobo. you know that the lad has alot in his locker but in the last year or so has forgotten his trade. 2 or 3 seasons ago he hardly missed a PL game inn the 06/07 season. A couple of own goals and errors combined with injuries and he looks like yobo who know.

I'd still rate Yobo better that Distin

Great point, jags has been fit for maybe 3 weeks and now its all good riddance yobo! Distin is great, Johnny is excellent, and we all know Jags is one of the best center backs in the league, but we should look at our past couple of years. Throughout that stretch, its been rare that we've had 4 fit first choice defenders, remember lescott first broke out with our team at left back because of injuries. hell jagielka wouldn't have got chances at CB if it weren't for injuries (didn't he play defensive midfield at sheffield?)

Yobo is an excellent player, and for a time was the recognized vice skipper. Obviously our team has progressed greatly since then but i still think he can do a job at CB. Right now, we have 2 fit center backs, one who just returned from a long term injury, and we already want to sell the third?

I would be okay with him leaving this summer if the price was right, but i don't think we should be overzealous about selling.
