Duffy is unproven in the premier league what i mean is out and out so not hibbert at centre half even though we've seen him do a job there, but we (well moyesy) keep(s) buying all these attacking players and ignoring our lack of depth at the back?

Duffy has looked tidy on the rare occasions i've seen him, and i dont think we are short at the back, if we sold anyone we would be but as it stands i dont think so, maybe at CM we are short but not at the back

Would be nice to have another LB/CB instead of another winger. Cant think of any though

Yoan Gouffran is a good player and sounds as a more attractive option than Johnny Russell tbh . Sign him up and sign Oviedo as well so we have extra cover at LB and LM .

Damned if you do, damned if you don't!
We have all been crying out for pacy wide-men/attacking players and finally Moyes is doing something about it and now people are saying we need defenders.
Only at Everton.

Nah but seriously, it's all about getting the balance right between the defence - midfield and obviously to from the midfield to the attack.

I remember when Carsley left our midfield and defence didn't click.

Gibson is the sort of player that can do this for us, so he has to feature somewhere - just to give the midfield some shape.

Our back four and goalkeeper basically picks itself.

- 24. Howard -

- 2. Hibbert - 6. Jagielka - 15. Distin - 3. Baines -

Obviously Moyes will throw 2 in front of the four, with one dropping back and the other being able to roam up the field looking for any loose balls.

- 18. Neville - 4. Gibson -

The next three will basically be the ones to interchange in attack, giving the center forward any support necessary.

- 21. Osman - 25. Fellaini - 22. Pienaar -

And ofcourse, Jelavic upfront.

- 7. Jelavic -

Final XI

- 24. Howard -

- 2. Hibbert - 6. Jagielka - 15. Distin - 3. Baines -

- 18. Neville - 4. Gibson -

- 21. Osman - 25. Fellaini - 22. Pienaar -

- 7. Jelavic -

It's hilarious like. I never ever thought I'd be thinking "another attacking pacy wide man/forward david, really? How about a full back or a dm instead?"

God bless his ginger socks, it's boss.

Im not having an outcry or anything. Im just saying one more defender would cap off a good transfer market for us

This transfer window has surprised the **** out of me, I'm always optimistic (mostly without just cause) but we now have a balanced team with (some) depth in all positions, this really could be a good year!

Definitely, if we could get a Baines-esque right back Or decent left-back cover this would be without any doubt the best summer in "Transfer Window" memory.

Copenhagen play Lille in the Champions League on Wednesday. Doesn't the Oviedo deal all hinge on that match?

Perhaps . But Oviedo only has 1 year left on his contract so Copenhagen will have to sell now if they want any money for him as it's unlikely he'll sign a new contract . Besides only taking a 1-0 lead to a place like Lille makes it pretty unlikely that Copenhagen will qualify for the CHL group stages.
