He is not the answer. The chances of him coming back and not get injured again are close to zero.

Why was he not sold last summer?
Why indeed. Lack of planning, strategy, managerial upheaval and uncertainty, incompetence - take your pick.

Feels like we’re going to lose him for 10/15 million this summer or worse he’ll see out the last year of his contract and go for free.

There have been so few successes in the transfer market over the last 5/6 years that we really can’t let the few players who have retained or rarest of rare, enhanced their value leave for knock down prices/freebies.

A competent club in our financial position would have been discussing a new deal with his agent throughout last season and he’d either sign one or if he didn’t want to or wouldn’t commit then the club needs to take control of that situation and do everything to find a buyer in the summer. All the power in Mina’s court now, we’re over a barrel.
