I am once again asking us to buy these players BEFORE they become worth 30m after 1 season.

Newcastle paid 6m for this fella 12months ago.

So who should we be signing now for the 6m ?

I don’t know but the noises seemed to be he wasn’t signing a new contract? If that’s the case then we are probably wise to try to extract some value from him moving rather than letting him go on a free. I know we all have limited faith in recruitment but we’d all be going mad if he walked away on a free next summer.

Irresponsile to let him go for free given the clubs past finances.

If this swap deal happens, his value is basically whatever we value for Dom. Both can be £30m, £80m, £0, doesn't matter.

Have to admit, I'm between sympathising with DCL that he would want to move on - and then thinking he's a bit ungrateful given the patience he's been spared.

I suppose as long as he doesn't leave on a free then he isn't in rat territory.

I get the feeling Newcastle and Everton all along have planned for a Dom/Minteh swap but need to feed outside rumours in to make it seem less set up.

All these years I have mocked swap deals and cheeky bids as never happening. And here we are…

I’m all for the non sky six teams sticking it to the Prem with a load of inflated value swap deals. The sky six reckoned we’d all be forced to sell our players for cheap values to them before 30th June. Wrong.
