Robert Jarvis
Player Valuation: £35m
That is exactly the point, a 20 goal per season striker is not going to score from the wing or the corner flag.
Think at times he was pickin the ball up to deep instead off playin on the shoulder of the last man, which is what he should be doin playing up front on his own. His hold up play was pretty good last night but as i say i think he was always in the wrong place when he was
I didn't think he had a great game. He was infinitely better against birmingham. Seems that he is either amazing or poor.
He said: "Yak was excellent. It's tough playing up front on your own and the pitch was absolutely enormous. He covered so much ground to wear the defenders down.
"He's done that a few times for me now and I've just managed to come on and picked up the pieces. He's set everything up for me. I'm learning so much from him. His game is all about strength but he has scored a lot of goals and I'm doing my best to take his advice.
So are you saying he was poor?
I think credit where its [Poor language removed] due. Sorry not having a go at anyone here, but it does seem like people are waiting for him to fail. I bet there was a major chorus of "[Poor language removed] hell, told you he was [Poor language removed]" when he lost the ball just inside his own half. But I bet the same lot were not making as much of a noise about Lescott, Valente and Piennar who made worse mistakes in much more dangerous positions.
Last night Arteta had a poor night in terms of delivery from set pieces, but not much is said about that.
I thought Cahill looked laboured, but nothing is said about that.
I think Yak is putting himself about and is putting in a shift. Do we want him running box to box? no we don't, there are other players who should be doing that. Personally I don't really want Yak in our half. He's a striker and he shouldn't be tracking back and putting in attacker style tackles and give away free kicks and yellow cards.
Its the same way we don't expect to see Yobo breaking through into the box.
Lets give the Yak some more credit. I mean its not like he has gone games without scoring goals now is it?

Too right.
I'll admit to being a fan of the guy long before he came here and nothing has changed since.
Seems like he is only a dissapointment to people who expect him to score 3 goals a game.
His rather hefty price tag didn't help matters but considering he has done what Moyes splashed out £11m to do which is score goals i'm still a fan of The Yak.
Although it's probably just me but i'm sure he seems to lose balance or slip quite often when holding off defenders. I know its not easy with a defender on your back but i'm just worried he is gonna turn into Emile Heskey and fall over every time someone breathes on him![]()

Told you he was [Poor language removed].
Its all about angles Bill, I can be 360 of them in one week.
