Yakubu?

They are apparently interested in Samaras in ManC as well.. but not willing to pay up the extra £1.5M Sven wants for him.

Come on Sven! Make a fellow Swede happy and sell Samaras to them so we can get Yakubu!!

Here is a quote from clubcall on why Southgate may let him go.

Southgate has insisted time and again that he has no intention of letting the Nigerian leave the Riverside and has already knocked back an offer from Yakubu's former club Portsmouth during the close season.

But his reported interest in Eastlands outcast Samaras could see the Boro boss soften his stance.

The Greek international was spotted on Teesside on Tuesday having been told by new manager Sven Goran Eriksson he has little or no future at the club.

Suddenly we are as rich as spurs in the transfer market. Hope it's true but 10 million for yakubu, he ought to be better than aj. Not too sure about that myself will have to wait and see. Heck, I have to wait for us to sign him first!

The tone of the papers seems different to me and it looks like Southgate is lining up a replacement already. It appears that for once we are waving money and genuinely got Yakuba's (and Boro's) attention.

As a side note, Southgate seems to be everybodies to get sacked before the season is over.

Anybody know the latest on this rumour, does it look like it's a serious possability ?
Brilliant if it came off.

Been to some football sites and many fans from top 4 reckon we will break into the top 4 if we sign yak and manny. Even spurs fan is worried about us it seems. Finally, we manage to strike fear and gain respect from others.

That's what I was trying to get at. I think there is a serious chance this will go through. It may hinge on Southgate landing a replacement but I get the feeling all the dominoes are in place.
