After hoping the fall out with berti vogts ment yakubu would not be picked or not want to go.It now looks like he will be their in Ghana.

He is stated as saying "I played a couple of games for Nigeria in the summer and, if I am called up for the African Cup of Nations, I will be going," he told Monday's Daily Telegraph.
"I will be a bit sad because there are important games coming up here but everybody wants to play for their country. I have to play for them and I am ready for it if they call me up."

As well as the form he is in, I can't see Mr vogts not picking him.

I think even at night it would be pretty hot, especially in the summer when the days are longer anyway.

It does suck tho, but everyone knows about this when these players are bought, and imo there should be no higher honour or desire than to play for your country.

I'm guessing the groups are already set up and everyone knows who they're playing and when.

I'd figure that Nigeria might be seeded but after not making the last World Cup, they could have dropped down a bit.

South Africa have some good players, Quinton Fortune, Pienaar, McCarthy, but I'm hoping that they get knocked out quick with no injuries to our little gem Stevie P. I think we can get by the home games in January but away games with the squad depletion will be tremendously tough during that period.

Country is more important than club. For me anyway. Think of it like this:

When your growing up you support Everton (Like Rooney did), your dream is to play for Everton and England. You play for Everton, and England. Now you move to a club that you can't say it was your dream to pay for them. So now is it your dream to play for a club for money? or for your country? Rooney isn't destitute, and regardless if he plays for his club or not, he still gets a wedge.

So club vs country. Very few players play for the club they always wanted to play for, so it has to be country. But then with a country so [Poor language removed] with national identity maybe it should be club. If only to not be put on a pedestal and destroyed.

It's a wonderful experience to play for your country and we wouldn't stand in there way but if Yakubu is going then I want Victor to stay behind, since he hasn't play for his country in any matches so far, so the chance are he goes to AFC and doesn't get to play any matches, I certainly don't see any point of him going unless he's going to start in any matches!

What sort of training are they going to do there? and it can't be done at there club?

Only reason I could think of it bonding session between the player, but i doubt they needed that the current team has been playing together for couple of year, there is no need of it!

Put it short yea he is truely a tosser, that's without a doubt!
