Yea but they do or rather they DID offer stupid wages and in some circles they are considered a bigger club than us, but i know im biased, but they clearly arent. Anyway i cant see much mileage in any of this story, i think hes pretty happy here and yes we all think hes got a bit mercenary in him, but i just cant see why he would want to go there.

You can just hear the cogs ticking over in the journalists head. Nigerian consortium to buy out Newcastle, new owners may splash the cash, Yakubu comes from Nigeria, therefore Newcastle want to buy Yakubu. Let's run with it.

A load of tosh that someone made up in their head with absolutely no basis other than Yakubu comes from Nigeria.

Take a piece of paper, draw a line down the middle.

In the left hand column, write down the amount of players who have [Poor language removed] their careers up by signing for Newcastle e.g. Luque, Boumsong, Smith etc and in the right hand column right down the ones who have [Poor language removed] up their career signing for Everton.

At the moment, I cant think of a player that has signed for the barcodes in recent years and actually improved as a player. Newcastle is not the place for a player to go at the moment!!!

I couldn't agree more, although Emre is looking like a player reborn since his return to Turkey.
I sometimes wonder if we're the greenest club in Europe, picking up thrift shop bargains and other club's cast offs and turning them (back) into quality performers, while other clubs metaphorically leave all the lights on and drive around like crack dealers in 4wds. There should be a permanent Greenpeace protest outside St James' Park.

And I forgot Scott Parker. But I mean you would, wouldn't you. :D

Spot on.

I was surprised we didn't see a headline that said:

Newcastle in triple Nigerian Swoop.

...with Yak, Yobo, and Anichebe all heading to St. James.

What a joke.

Journalism? They're having a laugh.
