I have the option of getting either as i have the money.

I like the idea of playing people on Live, However i've never had an xbox before, and the ps3 isnt as good for that apparantly?

I dont know what to get.

360 All the way. Live is brilliant, as now games are coming out on the PC as well, you can play them on multi-formats. The quality of game on the 360 is far greater than the PS3 right now.

Sony have lost almost all of their exclusives, now games are coming out on both PS3 and 360. THe HD format war is still at a stalemate, but I am siding with HD DVD rather than Blu-Ray as it was cheaper for me to get into it (with the 360 HD DVD add-on - brilliant piece of gear if you have a 360 and an HD TV or play on a monitor).

I know people think I don't like Sony, but it wasn't too long ago I was championing the PSP (much to Rob's disgust) and have owned the PS and PS2. I had very, very high hopes for the PS3, but Sony have failed to deliver on them. The only reason I want a PS3 right now, is for when GT5 comes out, but who knows when that will be.

Xbox 360 all the way for me.

PS3 for me, even though people say it is expensiver, it is now £299 which is good. Also if you look at it as a Blu-ray disc player its a great deal!!!

For me the XBox 360 is loud, unreliable and they make you play for xbox live!!

The playstation has teh better controlers, better media features, and is more reliable...

PS3

That last part Dom is so full of crap I don't know where to begin.

The controller thing is a preference, the PS3 doesn't even come close on media features (the Xbox is in the works as a digital cable box replacement, so all of your TV can come in through the Xbox and you don't pay a cable company like Sky or NTL).

The PS3 isn't more reliable. The first run Xboxes had reliability issues, but those are a thing of the past.

They make you pay for Live! because it is so effing brilliant. Sony offer a token free online service. You know that if Sony had something that rivalled Live , then they would be charging you out of the ying-yang for it.

paying to access servers for certain online games is wrong.

regards the xbox live experience, how much advertising is involved?

you have to pay £10 just to change your name on it!!

and it is unreliable yes. The first ones broke, and most of my mates have the 360, 5 of them have said it broke! and one of them has an elite!

And if you look at the price of blu ray disc players (from £270 - £1000) the playstation is great

To be honest its all down to personal preference at the end of the day, have a look at the games that are available decide which ones you think you would like the most and get that one.

Me personally I prefer the wii as the HD thing just doesn't do anything for me, I my father in law has a 100inch (or something wider than me when I put my arms out in full stretch) HD TV and we have played both ps3 and 360 on it.

In short, get a wii ;)

the PC always has and always will be the 'big boss'

bleeding edge technology is pc only, let that be your guide.

ps. farcry is one of the BEST games ever.
