McBain

Player Valuation: £80m
T Webs linking us to Mikels best bud, Xavi Alonso for 14 mil.

Good or bad? He's a good player, and he probably convinced Mikel about coming to us. Well at least that what they said on the pre game show once.

Still he's an RS. Does that matter as much though in the day and age of uber commercialism? And will it lessen in the future? Theres been deals before, so what do you think?

Thoughts from the blue brains trust?

He's a good player imo.

Very comfortable on the ball, can pick a pass, has a big range of passing, good shot on him, can tackle.

Very good player, but thats my opinion.

Good passer definitely.

Can tackle? not so sure about that.

Personally don't think hes worth 14m to a club like us.

I wouldnt say he's the best tackler, but he's decent at intercepting play and doesnt mind getting stuck in for a spaniard.

Maybe so, but if you was Moyes and had 15m to spend in January and say you could get Alonso for that - would you?

Bearing in mind his wages and recent injuries...

No i wouldnt want him at Everton now, but im just saying he is a good player.

I'd rather focus on a younger player and would spend 15 million on Fernandes without a seconds thought btw.

Nothing more than a fans rumour - you may aswell believe the rumours on football-rumours.com

Toffeeweb Mailbag:

I have absolute, undisputable black and white proof that Alonso will be an Everton player within a month.

The fee is €19m, which is approximately £14m GBP.

The proof is an obvious format which I can't provide, as I, among others, will be sacked. It is so frustrating that I cannot provide any proof. The exact amount is a £14m one-off fee and estimated £750k compensation (I suspect to pay off Alonso's contract?)

Steven Pienaar is leaving Everton as well, I saw him at Cape Town International airport, hes going to sign for his old club, Ajax Cape Town.

Heard it here first. (y)
