Alonso can play but he sure as hell isn't worth 14M.

I'll guarantee even the most jaded reds would tell you he isn't worth that.

Save the money.

shabby hasnt been the same player since he lost the protection and time afforded to him on the pitch that hamaan provided.

the problem that lot have is 'G-laa' they need a taylor made system built around him, shabby doesnt fit.

and its going to be utterly hilarious if sven gets mascherano, really really funny stuff.

As with anything/anybody linked to the RS, that £14m is about 30-40% overpriced simply because of the prestige premium.

Would he improve our squad? Sure, but £14m can be much better spent on players on the upward trajectory in their career, not the downslopes.

Maybe so, but if you was Moyes and had 15m to spend in January and say you could get Alonso for that - would you?

Bearing in mind his wages and recent injuries...

Exactly, i did take Fernandes any day over Alonso and he is a diver as well, don't want a player like that in our team!

I'd pay about 12mil for him if he wasn't so injury prone.

I don't like him, he like to dive like Fabregas and other scum bag sissy footballer, i don't fancy seeing one of our player does that!

If you going to dive, dive like a man not some sort coward or sissy!

He'd be vying more for Osman's position than Carsley's and I'd say upgrading Carsley is more important than upgrading Osman.

i don't think he'd be vying for osman's position, alonso plays central whereas osman is rarely used in the center and i think performs much better on the wing. alonso usually plays strong attacking midfield (like gerrard which is why its stupid for the redshite to have them both), almost in a tim cahill like mold... but we already have a tim cahill like player, his name is tim cahill.

14 mil, you're definitely having a laugh i don't know if he'd be worth half that, plus we don't really need him, at all.
