OS has now confirmed the story with a simple KW has resigned, and with the date, and his photo. I would take it that Kirkby has been called in and he's bitten the bullet.

Glad that those who hated Kirby are happy, just wondering if your wonderful local council will be able to find a site for us within the fablbed city boundary.

Probably not in my lifetime. Another form of slow lingering death.
