Martinez was trying to address that prickly little issue in contrast to previous regimes as I alluded to when helping you out earlier with the challenging the elite without their money reply

. .

but he didn’t address it, so what was your point again?
You actually trying to say Martinez was trying harder? Is that what you are actually saying? lol

Unquestionably trying harder on the attacking front by bringing through attack minded players that Moyes couldn't fathom. Add in loaning the reputed wonder flier from Barca together with the best striker this club has seen since Adam was lad then unequivocally the answer has to be yes.

The absence of real dough at the club killed his long term vision of transforming plodding hoof merchants into a top flight "pass and move" euro style club. Essential signings of the inspirational and hugely successful loanees took a chunk of cash that killed the notion of replacing ALL the drag anchors from the Moyes mediocre era.

He forlornly tried through Holgate, Browning et al but ultimately the necessity for proven top level players could not be denied and as you mentioned he ended up depending on various shades of cack in a period of heightened expectation. It was nailed on the glittering edifice he was trying to build would come crashing down without solid foundations and the last thing you could call a defence including the ageing Howard, Baines, Jagielka and Coleman was "solid".

Whichever way you slice it lack of money akin to those he was challenging did for him but if mid table mediocrity before audacity and the chance of silverware is your thing then who am I to criticise just not my idea of Everton.

Maybe I was awestruck by a game against shef wed in the 60s and the development of a certain holy trinity

bit unsure mate, think you have just possibly smoked a bit too much weed after reading that.

Moyes last two seasons GF 105 GA 80 points 119

Martinez last two seasons GF 107 * GA 105 points 94*

* indicated that 3 goals and 3 points from the total came in a game after Martinez was released from his role.

Surely if what you’re saying about Martinez training our team to attack better he’d of been out scoring a Moyes Everton team? Especially with the luxury of the excellent Lukaku?

I’ve used the last two seasons as a culmination of each managers training and methods being ingrained to each player by that point.

Fascinating comparison but do you really think you are comparing apples with apples?

Moyes last 2 years were the pinnacle of an 11 year tenure the squad being shaped and sculpted entirely to his own design with Walter's players long dispatched and his own errors in the transfer market smoothed over. On the other hand Martinez still had a cadre of Moyes players welded on to desperation buys from the bottom of the barrel trying to supply Rom!!!

The stark reality was these guys were incapable of playing a truly fluid and creative passing style and in addition the already leggy Moyes crew were 2 years older. Interesting idea though.

Martinez couldn’t win the World Cup/Euros with the best squad of players at the tournaments so please no one say it was lack of investment that he failed at Goodison.
Think why is he still an-international manager and not been snapped up by a CL club.
He got lucky building on Moyes’ defence, that’s the reality

If you're unsure see if the game and the lads are on the web be a terrific experience for you ... not the same as being around like I was I grant you but it should resolve your confusion

he’s give you bare facts and stats mate and you won’t have it still?

also I’m not sure how you even believe Martinez could have turned around the mess he created. Unless you have forgotten, the mood of the club when he left was horrendous, as was the balance and performances from the team.

But you are obviously going to stick to your beliefs though, so not going try and persuade you otherwise.

He's taking the piss mate. Moyes last 2 seasons versus Martinez last two seasons.

FFS, I stopped reading right there.

well you would as it pisses over every boring story that you relentlessly churn out.

what’s your latest imaginary story?

first it was Baines and Jagielka plotting.

Now its some stupid Moshiri stuff you are trying to peddle.

you are really, really weird mate.

Anyone who knows about football accepts that Martinez was the only coach we've had since Harvey and Kendall. The rest have been clueless hoof merchants. Royle knew how to mix it up, so honourable exception on that.

Russia dispatched by Roberto's men with utter ruthlessness.

Wins = 33
Draws = 6
Losses = 3

GF = 128 (3.0 goals scored per game on average)
GA = 30 (0.7 goals conceded per game on average)

The most successful manager in Belgium's history and overseeing the best football ever played by a very decent football nation.
Update:

Wins = 34
Draws = 6
Losses = 3

GF = 134 (3.0 goals scored per game on average)
GA = 30 (0.7 goals conceded per game on average)
