They should improve the catering that's for sure, maybe a cheese and pickle sandwich would be an viable option. I do think anything warm needs to have a shelf life, toast tends to not keep too well and the warmth inside the packaging coupled with the cold from outside will yield wet and soggy bread.
 

They could charge what they liked for it, and some unidentified knobhead would still consume one eigth of it and leave the rest at the bottom of the steps...

I wish! I haven't been to Goodison since Andrew Johnson came and I'd gladly pay whatever ridiculous price they charged. But only once, mind.

I agree with Walken, though. If you can't go a couple of hours without food. It's the same here in Melbourne. The prices they charge
should be against the law, but mugs keep paying them. Not me.
