He's a good player, but I think the biggest reason for the increasing gap between the better sides and also-rans is that, in light of virtually everyone in the league having the money to recruit quality players, they're now out-working as well as simply out-classing their opponents.

Sigurdsson isn't in the game as much as those he'd be competing with, and his talent isn't enough to get by on at that level.
