Needing to find a home for a dog, a staff.

It had been abandoned. Came across it on Sunday, it had a good collar on with its tags removed and it was in a really shocking state, the less said the better.

I phoned the RSPCA and they came and took it - afterall, it could have been someones dog and it had just got away.

I would have liked to keep it but my dog tried to attack it as soon as it seen it so it just isn't possible.

I phoned up today and they told me what I already knew - they keep it for 7 days and after that they make decisions on what to put down. Its great nature, combined with my conscience means I'm going to go down tomorrow and pick it up (or come to an agreement were they wont put it down, even if I have to sponsor it or something).

If you (or you know someone) who would like a staff (the RSPCA tell me he's about six), let me know. I'll pay and drive it anywere in the North West - will take it back of them if they decide for any reason they don't want it.

With it being a staff I know I'm going to be hard pushed to find somewere decent for it, most (like I was), would be put off but its a really nice dog otherwise I wouldn't be going through the arsing about.

You could take the poor thing to Freshfield Animal Rescue in Lunt ( near Crosby / Thornton ) The woman who owns the place ( Leslie) is brilliant as they never put any animal down unless its a no hoper health wise.

Good on you Danny. Hope you'll be able to find an owner for the dog. Absolutely hate cruelty to animals. Gets to me a lot more than pictures of war, floodings, earthquakes etc...etc... Might sound strange, but maybe that's just the way I am.

Mate , I'm seriously considering it . Problem is , when I start with the Hossy , walks an all .
If I could find a way around it , I'd at least come and meet it with you . Can't promise , but I'll ask me mate if he can help .
Fukn shame , lad .
You , as ever , are a top gent' , naturlich .

Sorry mate.....

But No.

All they do is eat and [Poor language removed]..!!!

Infact..

Anyone want my baby Daughter....

Good on ye Dan, hope it finds a nice home.

I've already got 3 rescue dogs and six ex battery hens so can't oblige.
The North Clwyd Animal Rescue will take an animal and there's no question that it will be put to sleep unless it's on health grounds.
I do bits and pieces of volunteer work with them so if all else fails, I'll be happy to sort something out with you.

Sorry mate, got a 7 year old rescue dog already. Wouldnt be fair on him. Also couldnt give both of them the time they would require.

Good luck dude.

Well done, GOT.

Suggestion, if you cannot find a home for this staffy:

The Dogs Trust
Whiston Lane

Tel: 0151 480 0660

"We never destroy a healthy dog"

If you'll pardonnez moi, they're dog's b******s of animal charity. Got my beautiful border collie there about 5 years ago. The process to assess us as prospective owners was harder than a job interview...

Take him there if all else fails
