As stated previously the material was not made for clothing - more suited for tents or sails. Got mildly claustrophobic just putting it on.

Wasn't that 95-96? Looks like the Charity Shield v Blackburn.
I remember everyone going ape when the 1891 home shirt was released. I nearly choked on my pipe. We were all over the shop deciding on a home kit colour back then. I had to buy a new scarf almost every season. This tragedy lasted four years! The buttons fell off after one wash. There was no pocket for your tobacco. Plus the collar really chafed. I think you'd all agree that we were happy to see the back of that one!

I bought that shirt. If I can find it, I have a photo taken of me wearing it in Egypt. It was one of the most memorable days of my life too!To complement @Groucho's thread.

Dang! Must have had a non-Android phone or used a camera camera. It was 2008 and we were in that bedouin camp that has a radio telescope. I embarrassed myself when I said the surface The Moon was so clear l could see Buzz Aldrin's golf ball, and some smartarse behind me in the queue said it was actually Alan Shepard's ball. (I recovered by saying that no, it was Aldrin's half-inched golf-range ball l was looking at, and that I could see Shepard's shanked Titleist in a bunker)
But the real memorable bit was that I saw the rings of Saturn!
