47 years I played, never much good (40 break, 5 Blacks best I ever did).packed in when when the smoke-ban came in. Always liked the Hurricane, the Whirlwind, Selby, Trump, all the Welsh boys and of course
the Rocket. I saw Terry Griffiths being interviewed a good few years ago , he said he had a practice table
in his house extension before he won the Worlds, and put a few beer crates around the table so his 8 year
old lad and his mates could play on it, he watched and listened to the boys pick their favourite players,
first lad said I wannabe Hurricane, 2nd said Whirlwind, 3rd said Cliff Thorburn and Terrys lad said I wannabe
Ray Reardon. Terry said you can imagine what he felt like. 1978 Griffiths won the Worlds and his lad
changed horses to be his Dad Terry.
