Thing is they were never going to bring the sport into disrepute by punishing someone like Higgins ( would have been the same story if it was the likes of Selby, O'sullivan, Williams etc). If it was say Joe Perry or some other middling player they'd have had the book thrown at them. That's what irks people the most.

They hammered both steven lee and quinten hann. A couple of the Chinese match fixers got the full ban as well, a handful got the lesser sentence stuff.
