Been watching a fair few clips of Alex Higgins on the old YouTube recently. I wasn't even both when he was in his prime, but boy was he talented. If I learned correctly, it seemed he had plenty of demons, namely heavy smoking-related diseases, drug use, and gambling and drinking issues, which held him back from being one of the all-time greats.
He was an all time great regardless
I guess I should rephrase and add "in terms of titles won" as he was 'only' World Champion twice. Seems like if he hadn't had so many vices he would have been the best ever without doubt.
