Hate to say it but if Firmino had played over Jesus he would of been in the team and Brazil would probably of gone a bit further if not won it .

Notable mentions for Pavard, Pickford, Inui, perisic , Maguire and obviously Ronaldo .

Neymar the absolute failure of the tournament.though .

Giroud is a pretty good shout. I kind of thought went the tourney started he was going to be the weak link. However he was a pest and was a menace for defenses. I don't think they win the thing w/o him. If only Koenman had the chance to ruin him maybe Belgium or Croatia wins this thing.

I mean I am willing to give Giroud credit for making a contribution to France's run. But putting him in the best 11 is crazy IMO.

how ? It’s a team game and his all round play helped the rest shine , the first game v Australia he didn’t start and France were terrible . His presence was massive in France winning the trophy . It’s not all about what’s the easiest on the eye .

I'd have Perisic as one of your forwards well ahead of Giroud. Hazard was immense when he was moved centrally when Lukaku was subbed.

Hell I'd have Mandzukic ahead of Giroud.

it was either hazard or perisic , giroud or Cavani. Like I say giroud for me has been under appreciated as his selfishness has let mbappe and others shine . France wouldn’t of won it without him . Others stood out more but that’s not the point imo .

Don't know if I'd put him in the WC 11 either (if I did a 4-5-1 or a 4-4-1-1 probably not). Maybe he was say 90% of the player say Rom was in the tourney but France won the thing and he was one of the best and vital French starters. So that counts for something.
