Work survey

A question every year on our annual survey is 'do you enjoy coming to work?'. When the results come back, usually showing about 10% saying yes, there's always a big inquest as to why it's not higher. For me, I don't hate it but would much rather stay in bed so can't ever confess to looking forward to going to work whatever job I've ever done. So what says GOT? Are you in the 10%, are you like me or do you despise what you do?

Our staff survey always has a question asking if you are happy with your pay.

I'm sure that is rarely over 10% positive just out of principle

Pressure can be crazy at times but the downsides more than compensate. A lot of my work is reading and I enjoy that with music on and flicking GOT.

Enjoying the work you do and it being secure in these unprecedented times is just Heaven sent.

I dislike making money for other people and jobs stealing 7 or so hours a day from me but I have a good job, get paid well and don't dislike it. It could he worse.

I'll answer from my retired point of view.

Did I enjoy going to work when doing the 'Monday to Friday' full-time job? Yes, it was challenging having over 100 staff in my Command, both clerical and executive grades, and guiding their careers.

Do I enjoy the research work I do now? Absolutely. 40 years and counting, and still finding out new things.

If I do a job which holds no real interest to me I usually get bored and lose motivation very quickly but at the same time if I do a job which is based around a hobby of mine I end up hating that hobby because it becomes a constant reminder of having to work.

Either way I end up in a Job id rather not be in and ultimately money becomes the only factor in what job to take.

My job is ok. As long as the bosses who don't have a clue don't interfere and let me get on with it

Same, mine is easy. Glad it is getting cooler as it is hard work in summer as it gets really hot but in a 12 hour shift I spend about 4 hours on my phone watching racing and nobody knows as I am hidden away in a side room. It's easy money.

I enjoyed teaching for years but when the government got involved too much i stopped enjoying it and then the money simply wasn't worth it, so I stopped.

Now I work in my shed on various projects. Love that. Although the 6 yard commute to work can be a drag.

Golf courses, race courses, away games and holidays should stop me getting bored

I’d day most people dislike their job. Lots will say move and get a new one doing something you like but unfortunately life revolves around money and existence isn’t cheap.

Not sure anyone would pay me to watch a crap load of footie anyway.

Work to live, never the other way around. Not hating my work. 99% of the time I go in with a smile, but also wouldn't miss it one bit, if I'd win the lottery today.

Don't hate my job but wouldn't go as far as to say i enjoy it or anything. Good bunch of people i work with makes the days tolerable.

I've been retired for 20 years so enjoy staying in bed. Whatever job I did when I worked, I mostly enjoyed. Had some really challenging but interesting jobs.
