Me too. Seems to be the go-to phrase to discredit someone, whether it's appropriate or not.

I love the word fraud. I use it to describe anybody in football who are paid mega money to underperform each week.

Most of the Everton team are currently frauds.

Probable difference between mine and your example is that I'm not a Southern melt.

"so" at the start of a sentence, or explanation. I reckon this started in a lecture somewhere as it seems to have infected the academic world first, and just caught on.

I reckon it was probably a colonial of some sort. From somewhere like S.Africa, New Zealand, Canada........
