edge, sums up most people on facebook. Not one brain cell between them! They can't spell racism, never mind understand it!

Seems strange that your criticising Facebook as you should only see posts from your friends. May I suggest you get some better mates?

My view on how things should be:

If a person is found planning/intending to harm a country/citizens in that country, regardless of their race, religion, reasons, or where they are from, they should be considered as a terrorist and/or threat to society and therefore be imprisoned, if they are from that country, or deported if they are not - unless they are an extreme threat, for example had done or planned to do something like 9/11, then keep them in said country and do not take eyes off them at all because they are too dangerous to be let lose.

Just like if a person is found to be plotting a kidnap or something similar, they are a threat to society and should be imprisoned.

I do not think that it would be against human rights, nor would it be racist, it would be a country protecting itself and it's citizens.

Of course people do not like the idea of using tax payers money to keep a person imprisoned, but I would rather pay tax for that than to have them lose and being a serious danger to society.

P.S. Sorry if I'm late on the discussion.

I still find it unbelievable that the UK needs 10 years to get rid of radical clerics such as that Abu Hamza fella. Mad that. Plus he gets a taxpayer-funded five-bedroom house for his family. How is that right?

Cos our country is a joke and a soft touch.

Julian Carax, not at all. I'm new here, just responding to latest post as I'm doing now, does that makes us friends?I've got a good set of friends thanks, why the superior tone "mate"?

Right I am sorry for the tone, it was all a bit tongue-in-cheek - just pointing that I find it strange to criticise Facebook when after all it's an online collection of your friends.

Sorry for any offence caused.

None taken, I've just never like the whole facebook 'be my friend" thing. I hate the way people always ask me "are you on facebook" no but I've got a phone number, if u want to talk bloddy ring or text me! So are we friends now?!

Honestly, a lot of my friends have swallowed the EDL. Mantra...... Personally I put it down to jumping on the bandwagon..... They are not bad people ..... They maybe just lack the understanding of the situation or are responding to a horrific event with a knee jerk reaction.....I wouldn't expect anybody to change their friends over this.

Personally I totally ignore what b EDL have to sy as I don't believe that combating one extreme group with another is the cure for anything.

And I do realise th friends jibe was tongue in cheek.

Kurt, half the people on facebook are idiots anyway so that comes as no suprise to me. The fact is though, when the media tells normal people who have somthing negtive to say regarding the Muslim population that they are Nazis or EDL or BNP, or just an everyday fascist your going to get that type of reaction from people. Plenty of people have had concerns for years and they've always been shouted down. Result? The only ones left shouting are the most angry ones.
The right and far right have developed a persecution complex though. The same thing happened in the states, Fox News moan and moan about liberal agenda in the media whilst boasting about having the lion share of the ratings.
Yes, political correctness and a slightly left of centre view point has been adopted because there has been a greater influx of immigrants to the country and people tend to be nicer to each other face to face. That doesn't mean the right have no say whatsoever. Look at the rise in popularity of parties such as UKIP and to an extent the BNP. That's because the Tories aren't right enough for some people.
There are problems at the fringes of both "communities" we are discussing. They are just the fringes though. Stuff like this shouldn't happen but further ostracising a fairly insular community such as Muslims doesn't seem to me the right way to irradicate these problems.

Bluemangroup, I don't think its fair to compare UKIP to the BNP, UKIP are just what the Torries used to be, but I wouldn't say UKIP are fascists. The real problem we have in the country is that most of major partys are naither right or left, they stand for nothing other then making money for themselves. You couldn't call Camoron a real Torrie as most of his party hate him. The only way to make people interested in politics again is to for the partys to speek about what matters to the people of this country and sadly the "big three" don't do that, which is why people have turned to ukip

I wasn't really comparing, merely saying people who want to be further right of centre and express their opinion of the direction of Tory party via voting in recent times have gone down that route. They aren't the same parties or even close really but people have voted for both as a form of protest.
