You're right.

I've coached girls teams and a women's team two decades before rhe current bandwagon sparked up. I'd never dream of patronising any, but nor would I pretend they're anything near the men's game - as illustrated when a Wrexham team of retired non-league players played the women's World champion USA team and what was the score? 12-0. Quietly passed over by the media.

Shall we talk parity of pay now? When the women's game brings in the same audiences and viewers as does the men's game (and its certainly beginning to head that way) then there will be parity of pay. For women to say they should be paid the same as men is just as absurd as a League 2 player wanting parity with a Premier league mercenary because theyre pkay in the same game, irrespective of attendances or skill.
You seem angry.

I was just pointing out that there are probably a lot of people that will come in here just to tell us they don't like some things about womens football rather than just go into a different thread and talk about things they do like.

Your post has earned two sips of beer though 👍

It’s hilarious how out of hand this myth got. The “World Champion” US women were actually retired players, the Wrexham team wasn’t actually all retired players and the game wasn’t even a real footy match, it was a 7v7 exhibition.

You, and many others honestly, claim your motives are pure when you constantly talk about how sportswomen can’t match up to sportsmen. Maybe they are. But I’d probably take a good long look at myself if the points I’m making lined up with those made by people who very openly intend to be demeaning.

I think people are using it in the face of a constant assault from the unthinking where they try to insist that everything a man can do a woman can do too (sometimes better?). It's clearly and plainly wrong. Given the same opportunities Men TEND to be stronger, faster, have better stamina, emotional consistency. Women TEND to have better colour acuity, empathy, nurture instinct.

Purely anecdotally I've observed that women TEND to use far more words to describe or talk about something than men do. This makes a difference to me for sports commentary. Having said that the media seem to love a man that blabbers so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place there.

Male and female compliment one another as a pack animal, due to simple evolution. To expect that they are equal invalid things is just absurd.

First game is just kicking off and already I am annoyed. Teams in the tunnel, walking out to a full house with New Zealand in front of their home fans. I imagine the stadium would be quite loud at that point when the players appear from the tunnel. I could see lots of flags getting waved and everyone on their feet.

However, they have decided to mute the sound from the stadium and have the 2 commentators have a little chat instead.

I want to hear the crowd, not quiet chit chat
