They looked out on their feet in extra time, but managed to see the game out incredibly well once they scrapped the winner. They've been fantastic throughout the tournament and fully deserve the win, and it's amazing to see them do it in front of a full house at Wembley.

It’s more about how they are drawing a false equivalence to the mens game. Saying it is a first international tournament victory for England since 66 is wrong. You have to gloss over major victories by the youth sides if you do that. Didn’t the lads win a few European Championships in the 80s as well?

So either you celebrate it for what it is - a major victory for the ladies - or include the wider tournament victories as well.

By that logic, why are we all so down about Everton's fortunes lately when we were u23 league winners with David Unsworth?
