Yesterday apparently, a number of personal and intimate photos of some of the England women’s squad were leaked onto the internet.

While such leaks are wrong at any time, this certainly can’t be helping their preparation for the final and is another example of prejudice.

In America, women soccer is embraced and liked by loads of people, whilst I've noticed a lot of resistance/opposition to the idea of women's football in the UK. I've noticed some say that women "shouldn't be playing football" in a pub near London. Anyways, I straight away assumed the UK to be very traditional and misogynist in many senses of the society. I thought about this for a while yesterday and I think the biggest difference between UK and USA is that the UK has a very strong culture with men's football and people are so accustomed to watching men's football to the point that watching women's football feels like a massive downgrade in standards. Whilst Americans don't really watch men's football so watching women's football isn't a big difference to the masses. Anyways, my two cents on this.

I was explaining this to family the other week. It's very difficult over here TV rights etc etc which effectively have created the modern football we watch week in week out.

The standard has improved massively and a big contributing factor was probably the US national team who set the bar.

I posted earlier in this thread that it's not a sexiest thing for me personally, I go for atmosphere friends and comrades. Could I get that same rush from women's football currently? The answer is no.

As for the comments around they shouldn't play football well that's just being a twunt. For the record us londeners don't think like that.

The dreaded mail did a leader the day after the semi. They had pics of the back heel scorer in bikini and others in party dresses.
