No doubt Lille will be the toughest team to beat in the group but Wolfsburg are a fantastic team going forward. People saying start Alcaraz for this reason are pretty clueless tbh.
Wolfsburg are better than Lille i reckon (on paper)
Would be nice to have a two- or three-goal lead allowing us to take Baines off and give Garbutt some experience. But I suspect this game is way too soon for Kone and besides, who would you drop to make room for him? Lukaku, Naismith, Eto'o or Mirallas?I would like to see Garbutt play and Kone come off the bench.
It's the how to beat the house at Vegas theory.Winning Europa for me. The odds are against us in either scenario, but with fewer total games in the Europa League, it makes an anomalous result more likely. On a given day anyone can beat anyone, but if two teams play each other 1000 times, the better team will always come out ahead on aggregate. Same thing here, we're not favorites to win Europa or to finish top 4, but a fluke is more likely in the former scenario.
Plus Martinez knows how to get a team to perform when it comes to cup competitions.
Swansea are good and I don't want us going out of a cup so soon.Hibbo/Browning seem cert to play against Swansea. That'll be the game where he rotates. Kone on the bench for Swansea and Oviedo to start I reckon.
Can't see either being available for Wolfsburg or Palace unless someone gets a knock.
