Winter Olympics, Milan 2026

Ski-boarding and those events: I honestly think they make up the scoring system as they go along. Someone gets a 55 mark of 95 mark look absolutely the same to me.

It's interesting to watch, but the whole thing is arbitrary as to where the medals go IMO.

Canada cheating against Sweden adding a bit of spice to the curling.
Canada here. The Canadian team was right.

It wasn't actually a rule in the global rules and the Canadians were right to tell them quit whining.

They clarified the rule during the competition but it didn't exist before.

Of course everyone loved the idea of us Canadians being cheats so that's the narrative now but at the time there was no rule and the Swedes were moaning over nothing because the issue was only ever brought up in the European finals but had not been ruled on by World Curling.

In short the Swedes didn't know the global rules and in response to the outrage they added the clarification and made it a rule to align with the European rules.

But the Swedes' grievance seems to have been that the second touch by Kennedy appeared to involve him making contact with the granite part of the curling stone with his finger.
This incident, and the later controversies, led World Curling to clarify the rules of the sport. "During forward motion, touching the granite of the stone is not allowed. This will result in the stone being removed from play," they said.
