Have you actually seen him play every article I’ve read in the last 24 hours references his ability to push forward with a burst of pace. They have negatives in the articles but pace is something he seems to have in abundance

Seen him in the WC, a few other times for Colombia when I've done friendly coverage, and three times for Boca (once last season, then in both Copa Lib final legs - he got sent off late on in the second leg with two cards in five mins).

Impressed me the first time I saw him for Boca - put himself about, kept things relatively simple with some neat passing, but nothing incisive or with any real quality of note. Was pretty poor in both legs of the Copa Lib. Looked an accident waiting to happen in the WC.

I think he could be a good addition, I just don't think he'd be an upgrade on Gana. And if we aren't upgrading, what's the point?

You said he was slow I’ve read 4 articles and seen twitter posts of Everton supporting stat guys who trawl wyscout watching players all say he is fast as.

I concur with Blue Toff. Don't get me wrong, he's so deliberate at times, like William Carvalho, he seems almost plodding. I like his ball skills, good passer, got some tackle in him, but yeah, I'm concerned with his athleticism. I don't think he's particularly quick, which is my biggest concern. Gana seems like LIGHTNING compared with this guy.

You haven’t seen him play have you

We were linked with Thiago Mendes today, id much rather sign him.
No disputing that but someone that plays with a bit of snide against them lot and isn’t afraid to get stuck in is good enough for me. I still think we may not sign anyone right now and wait till the summer

Just said this in the Gana thread as well Grouch, but for me, I don't see why we can't upgrade on Gana, and keep him. That's what a good team does. Maybe not in this window, but that's fine.

Build on what's good. Not sell.
I would agree thats where we need to get to.

But the problem is Walsh and Koeman wasted a LOT of funds. Funds that we could have used right now to do just that, because thats the way it should be, your former top player becomes your backup, thus always improving your squad.

But with the lack of funds, and a glaring need at striker and RB later on, because of the loses we will take on the Walsh purchases if the difference between us getting a top striker in January is us replacing Gueye with a player at 95% his level, I think its worth it. If we sell Gueye and buy a new DM, and we net 15-20 million that then gives us the funds to spend 40 million on a top striker, I think that makes the squad
