McCarthy is good at what he does but what he actually does is pretty limited.

From watching him at the Euro's he does play similar to Barry. I'd prefer a Kante type DM instead but no complaints if he is a replacement for McCarthy.

He's probably got more to his all-round game than Carvalho tbh, though as Mout has said Carvalho is a great passer - McCarthy isn't, but can at least get around the pitch.

If he does go then so be it, but I do think he should be given a chance. Gets a lot of undue flack all things considered.

Weird that he is disliked by so many Evertonians.
I remember when Man Ure and Arsenal were both sniffing round him he was deemed amazing!
Now that was a couple of years ago I know but since then he has won trophies including the Euros on top of his good play so I would be happy to see him join us.
Rather him than Witsel anyway.

Watched him at the U21 championships last summer and made a point of paying close attention to him given all the hype that was surrounding him a year ago

Thought he was absolutely terrible

Reminded me of Fellaini in his first six months here

He was actually better in the Euros than he was a year ago but even so, I think he'd be a disaster and the crowd would hate his "relaxed" style of play in midfield - i.e. slow as a tax rebate and works about as hard as a Greek civil servant (apologies to those with Hellenic heritage).
