Yes I agree, neither Gana or Iceland fit a 4-3-3 if I was being totally honest, sure they could both play there, but it would be far from optimal.

Gylfi has played the box-box 8 role before with some effect as whilst he lacks burst/acceleration he has tremdous sprint endurance and ground coverage. He is normally among the league leaders in distance run. He is a bit of a square peg but as we will only add 4 or so I think it will be between him, Vlasic and Davies for that role. Some in Croatia think Vlasic’s long term future is as a Modric type. He is not a true wide player for certain.

Doesnt need to be quick if he reads the game well. He is big strong and has a good passing range. He likes a pass into the chanels for the wingers on a counter attack.
