Will we ever see the end of 4-2-3-1?

The rs are a good example of a team that plays 4-3-3 with no decent midfielders. They play 2 attacking fullbacks and 3 journeymen who can run up and down the pitch, and then 3 quick, skilful forwards. It seems to work for them.

It's also more predicated on winning the ball back. Kinda hard to do that without 3 forwards.

I think until Gbamin is fit and we go in for a CM in January - its all about grinding out results the 1st half of the season.

We simply don't have the midfield 3 to go 4-3-3 at the moment - had Gbamin stayed fit we could have done it with Delph alongside him and Gomes pushed slightly forward but I imagine the plan was:

Gbamin Docoure

Gomes

The fact one didnt sign for us and the other is crocked isnt ideal for us.

this is what’s wrong with people....ffs this.

It was a comparison on a forum.

Always looking to be offended.

He is a an infectious lump ffs

Silva is too intransigent to ever switch it up.

I just don’t think any of our strikers suit playing the lone striker role and Rich is uncomfortable out right. If he’s now gonna be insistent on Iwobi replacing Bernard I think we might suit something like this more especially with our attacking full-backs.

Pickford
Coleman Keane Mina Digne
Sigurdsson Gomes Delph
Iwobi
Richarlison Keane
