Will the new BPL TV rights deal finally allow Everton to progress ?

Player Valuation: £90m
Just been having a look at the terms of the new TV deal, and it's quite crazy how much more income the club will receive over the next three years as a result of this tv deal. Everton will be guaranteed £14m more per season under the new deal, with the club also receiving an extra £1m each time they are broadcast on television.

I'm not entirely sure how many times we are usually broadcast on TV each year, but a conservative estimate of 10 (Each game against the Sky 4 plus the two Merseyside derbies) adds £10m more to the pot on top of the £14m extra income.

Now of course you might think 'Oh well it won't help us because teams above us will get more money too', but is that really the case ? I've always gotten the impression that Moyes makes more astute transfers than the majority of managers in the league. Would be nice to see Moyes given some of this extra income to test that theory properly.

£24m+ extra income per season from 2013-14 onwards, OOC about to rise ? :dodgy:

There might be a short term bump (like one transfer window) but really, pouring more money into the league evenly will only inflate prices.

Only if we buy from outside the Prem. Otherwise like what Pfim said, won't make much of a difference overall.

Relative to our competitors in the PL we haven't improved our finances at all, as they get just the same gains as we do. We'll be wealthier than foreign teams providing they don't have similar broadcasting bonanzas.

Note to commentors: there are other leagues than the Premier League. More money for PL teams means that they can buy players for more money from other leagues that didn't benefit from this. The more distance between EFC and, for example, Club Brugge, the better position we are in for buying players.

I know that was snarky, but the point of inflation only works if there are no teams outside of the Premier League.

Even if we're competing with the PL, Moyes getting better players just allows him to improve the club, relatively and absolutely. Also, becoming better absolutely will draw players from other leagues. Additionally, increases of 15% of revenue for us is better than a 5% increase for Arsenal, for example. That should improve our team more than many others, due to Moyes' skill and also our relative poverty among PL clubs.

COYB! Moyes, buy some players to replace Pip!

Yep, and that is relevant to us as Moyes has shown he's very capable of getting players from other countries in to make a difference.

I'm also not sure i buy the idea that wages will increase further. Wages increased in the PL but they also increased Europe wide during the same period. As you mentioned unless other countries experience a similar financial windfall (which i doubt) then there won't be a real need for wages to increase so massively, because the majority of talent arrives from outside the UK anyway.
