Will Moyes be brave enough to go 4-4-2 at Analfield?

Respect your opinion mate...but we can't go into the game in a negative way..I totally understand your argument , but we need to attack from the off and not give Liverpool the emphasis...Beckfords pace is needed and Saha's movement..We have a great momentum right now and to change the system or team could spoil that...

We haven't won there since 1999 and It's about time we went there with the will to WIN not DRAW or LOSE...COYB...

..and if we start with two up top, then Carragher and co. will be [Poor language removed] scared. We need to play to our strengths and not worry about how the opposition will line-up. Let them worry about us. The 'if it doesn't work then we can change it' frame of mind is no good if you're already one or two goals behind or you've given the impetus to the opposition. We've done more than enough of that this season.

I'd expect Dalglish to repeat his MF/FW line up today:

Maxi, Meireles, Lucas, Kuyt,
Gerrard,
Torres

We'll be in trouble with an out and out four man midfield combatting that. And I dont buy into the ability of Saha playing between Beckford and the midfield and getting a midfield job done.

We'll be filleted if we dont go with five in midfield initially.

A lot of people have questioned the tactics lately but I think it's been pretty shrewd. It was obvious after the west ham game we needed to switch things up, we were getting predictable and teams were able to contain us better despite us outplaying them in the midfield.

I can see why he didnt change for the stoke game, why take an aggressive side there and let redknapp see what he would be facing at goodison? Moyes is well known for holding his cards close to his chest and to be fair I think we did deserve better at stoke with the team we took.

The scunthorpe game also looked well planned out, moyes using his experience of the championship got all our tougher and more physical players in and after seeing heitingas early clattering they were clearly told to get stuck into them. The game played out great, Saha got his goal to keep his momentum going then we shut up shop with all our injury prone players resting up for the derby.

So for the derby I could see it going either way, 4-4-2 to keep momentum going and get some goals early or 4-5-1 to stretch them out. The beauty now is that with recent games it will be hard to predict which way moyes will go, his favoured 4-5-1 or the more aggressive 4-4-2. 4-4-2 seems a winning combination but I reckon liverpool will be expecting it, wouldnt put it past moyes to go 4-5-1 initially with a view to changing more aggressive as liverpool get stretched.

Either way (unlike most) i've been pretty happy with the tactics of late and im sure moyes will pull something out. REALLY looking forward to this one! coyb

I wouldn't be overly disappointed if we did, or surprised for that matter.

If we don't play the 4-4-2 with Beckford and Saha It will look like this;

---------------Howard------------------
--Neville---Heitinga--Distin---Baines--
---------Fellaini-------Arteta-----------
Coleman------------------------Osman--
---------------Pienaar------------------
---------------Saha--------------------

Moyes mentioned playing Pienaar in behind the striker might be a way to deal with Cahill's absence, this might be the game.

With Gerrard out I'm keeping my fingers crossed on 4-4-2. Time is right to get a historic win at Anfield while things are still unsettled with Dalglish coming on board.
