Player Valuation: £30m
Save a penalty kick?

he has had a few calamities as if late. Don't want to play a devil's advocate here because I think his a decent keeper with a killer instinct.

The only way we wont concede a goal from a pen is if the player misses the target. Thought he could have done better for Milner's FK as well

He's already saved one, Yakubu's against Boro in his first season.

He'll save one last game of the season, one of AJ's pens I reckon.

Yep. He did the Cahill celebration too, punched the flag.

I remember fuming and calling him every name under the sun.

I remember that, he was taking the piss. Him and Boateng started doing little jabs on the corner flag.

I was furious aswell.

Howard was shi* on saturday,He just did not look up to the game,Its a wonder the red ***** are not calling him Dracula because he doesn,t like crosses

99.9% of the time, Howard goes the wrong way when he faces a penalty kick. The next pen he saves one he will no little about it and knowing him, the ball will fall to the kicker to ram home the rebound.

The goalkeeping situation is a funny one. We've signed a couple of young 'uns in Ruddy and Turner who seem to have done well on their loan spells yet seem miles away from the first team. Then you have a few young lads signed to the youth team as well, the likes of Stauburg and the American kid we have on the books.

I guess it's hard with the keeper position to ever give young lads game time.

Turner was responsible for what could have been a hugely important goal at the weekend.

I can't quite make up my mind with him, he was brilliant on loan at Palace years ago & he's looked fairly impressive at times but he does have a mistake in him & at the level we're trying to reach, you can't have someone in goal who makes them on a regular basis. Keepers get better with age, it's all about decision making so if he can learn to cut the mistakes out, he might make it but its whether the rest of his game makes him worth putting up with while he learns.

On a side note - has anyone watched him warming up at half time? He's a talented [Poor language removed], always flicks it up & catches it on his neck. Not sure how that could possibly help his goalkeeping ability but it's entertaining to watch

Turnes broke his toe at the weekend on loan to forest incidently.

I tink he will go in the summer to be honest, hes been making noises about needing first team football.

Have to say i always though ruddy was more talented of the two.

With Nash on the books, I suppose it begs the question of whether we could get any money for either? Both seem to have some supporters in the lower leagues so they could be used to bolster the transfer kitty, especially as neither seem likely to trouble the first team any time soon.

Tim Howard in keeper doesn't save penalty shocker! Even keepers who have a good record saving pens go through a stage where they just don't seem to save any. Its pot luck, nothing else. When I first read on here Sunday about how people were upset he didn't save it, I thought maybe it was a weak one that went under him by the way people reacted. It was a good penalty.

Same with the free kick from Milner. If Arteta had scored that I bet no one would have said it was down to poor goalkeeping and would have said it was the best free kick ever! It certainly wasnt let in by a slip up or a dropped ball!
