They may enter the pond & are good swimmers & can hold their breath underwater for 3 minutes at a time - the sewer rats are large in size as the plenty of food down there..they may just viciously attack my fish & sress kills fish - also Rat p@ss is lethal poisoning the water it is can affect humans seriously too- rats unlike mice love water -
My fish looked stressed out somethings not correct- no rat in my trap tonight & I will 3/4 empty my pond tomorrow & refill with fresh water it's completely netted off tonight !
Stress kills fish frogs rats etc will not directly kill the fish they will & can cause bad stress = in death !
Careful with the water Joey.
If you continually change it with tap water that can do a lot of damage to your fish.
Changing the ph and chlorine levels can stress them out and lead to deaths mate.
As for the netting , get some plastic coated wire mesh there's nothing that will get in your pond and doesn't look obtrusive.
The hot weather can cause oxygen levels to drop dramatically in your pond.
I've got 2 aerator working in mine in the summer months , not lost a fish for years.
