Why that was Moyes' fault

A 606 caller got it spot on, saying that if you took the starting eleven of Blackpool, Bolton and Everton you would easily pick 7-8 from Everton to put into your starting line-up. Coyle and Holloway is getting more from less than Moyes.

I think one of David's problems is that he lacks ideas when it comes to formations , He has played this 4-5-1 for as long as I can remember and it's very rare he detracts from it. He took off Bilyaletdinov and Coleman and put Osman And Anichebe in the place and kept the same formation with Beckford playing in front of Cahill. It was completely baffling.

The trouble is that Moyes will only go if he walks , as we can't afford to let him go. I am not one for panicing who will we bring in to replace him , there are many managers out there that can do the job at Everton and that goes for managers without Prem experience , as Moyes did when he came in 2002.

Good point moyes has been poor like everyone else this season but he has enough in the bank to be given a chance to get it right the only question is does he want more time here cos it looks like he has had enough.

I think If he doesn't have a considerable transfer budget in the summer then he might as well leave , cos this season has been a disaster with the players we currently have.

I honestly think we will go down and if so i think it would wake him out of his slumber and give him the challenge he needs to bring us back up again with a new team.

I agree. I started a thread last week saying that my confidence in Moyes was back. The fact that he kept the team that had been close to getting a result against Arsenal - despite favorites Jags, Cahill and Osman being available -said to me that he had learned something. Yesterdays game he hand was forced with the injuries to Rodwell and Saha, but I cannot see what he sees in Anichebe, he is as clueless a footballer as I have perhaps ever seen. Moyes reverted back to his usual thinking of not having a plan b. The subs were all wrong and the gameplan from the offset was also at fault. If the pitch is wet, try shooting outside the field, play through the channels as the ball will pick up speed and Beckford would have won all running contests with Cahill, Knight and Wheather. Also Arteta is playing behind Fellaini - what is the idea with that tactical masterstroke?

The worst is that when Moyes says he will get tough with the players we all know that only Billy will be sacrificed, Arteta, Neville, Heitinga and Anichebe will all be there on Saturday.

Yeah i see where u are coming from but i reckon yesterdays game might have woken him and made him realise he has to fight just like the players to get us up the table. How can the players look top 4 players last season and bottom 4 players this year i cant get my head round that

Thats right lads Jerk them knees.Jerk em good.
There was not one player on the pitch yeaterday that deserved the shirt. Of course we can point fingers all day but if the players on the pitch don´t play we´re sunk.

P.S. Please let Anichebe suffer an injury, flu something . That was my biggest gripe yesterday. But on the whole the whole team was pants. We can do better and we know it thats why it hurts.

Problem I feel right now is that this last summer, with the transfer window ending I was very content with what we had. I, along with most people who I sounded out, believed that this year was going to be a big one for the club. We had retained the squad from last year, less injuries than in a really long time and a lot of momentum from the end of last season. It seemed we were on such a high that I had as pegged for a top 6 placing, and a real chance at top 4 for once.

Now, with everything falling apart, people are certain we will go down.
Have you even seen the last three this year? I feel like people have been on a downward slide ever since the end of september (with small glimmers of hope like October with 10 from 12 possible) with a tinge of panic.

I feel like we are under-achieving pretty much every game when we would most likely need just to put in a decent shift to get a win. Yesterday half the team just didn't turn up. Playing Anichebe alone up front was never going to work against a physical Bolton side, especially when Tiny Tim didn't push up as far, and Coleman had one of his worst games. I actually felt Bily did ok in the first half, but that's comparing to what I've seen him do in the past. Arteta looked better but Fellaini was wasteful.
Not playing Beckford from the start today is what bugged me the most though. He's pacy and makes clever runs and always seems up for a challenge, and I've yet to see him walk of the pitch without having had at least one chance. Instead Bolton pushed us back, and all we did was hoof it to Victor who held up before a pityful second touch turned the ball over again.

Naa we go down this season, but we won´t do owt, and if nowt changes we will struggle next season to stay up.

Totally agree - I was so confident going into the season. People around me thought I was crazy. My point is that players don't suddenly become bad over night, but the tactics might and to me Moyes could be doing a lot better with the personal available. I fear that nothing will change as Moyes has already made up his mind and will leave the club in the summer.

I think something will give in the summer i just hope its the fat mincer that gets run out of town. What would you take out of getting relegated and keeping moyes or staying up and getting fat sam.

That is a really bad set of choices there. Moyes will leave in the summer unless he is given roughly £20 m. before player sales - his stock is still high in the PL as the media really don't give a toss about us and our descend down the league is given the absolute minimum of coverage. Only now and again we are told that we are fickle and we would have been relegated without Moyes. To the media Moyes is bigger and better than the club, and until some journalist starts to actually look into what he has done then that will not change.

Moyes will not quit now - there are no PL clubs looking for a manager right now and he will be hard pressed to get a contract to match the one we have given him.

I have no doubt that Moyes is ambitious and want the best for the club, I do however doubt that his skill matches his ambition.
We need a complete shake-up incl. in the manager position - new ideas, new tactics and no loyalties towards current players. Paul Lambert, Martin Jol, Roberto Di Matteo or even Slaven Bilic play a much more attacking game, which the season and the last is what wins you games.

As I have stated earlier I would listen to offers for all our players except Rodwell and Cahill(would add Coleman and Barkley now) - unless incredible silly money is offered. I would take £10-12 m. each for Baines, Arteta, Fellaini, Jags, and £7-8 m. for Heitinga and Bilyaletdinov. £1-2 m. for Neville, Hibbert, Osman, Disting and even Saha.

There are loads of talent out there, they are just not given opportunies like they were before.

Agree with everything you say but how many of the managers you have suggested would come to a club in the state it is now and also in the knowlege you have £0 to spend unless you sell

you have a point, but three of them are unemployed and Lambert would definately jump at managing a PL club instead of a Championship club.
