Why so negative?

No.

Jan 2016 - 11 May 2016. 18 points from 18 games. See where Koeman gets us in May 2017 then judge. Don't just take out bits and say Koeman is no matter than the clown. We are 7th right now. Last two seasons were 11th and 12th under RM.
I didn't take a selective part out to pursue an agenda. I made an exact like for like comparison of RK's season and Bobby's at the exact same time last season.
The objective evidence is clear. Thus far, RK is doing no better than Bobby. I hope and expect that to change in the second half of the season.

Try comparing bobbys last 19 with koemans last 19
That would be unfair. It's not a like for like comparison.
If your agenda is to 'prove' RK's doing better than Bobby then it's easy to selectively pick Bobby's last 19 when the team were collapsing.
If my agenda was to 'prove' RK is doing worse than Bobby I could choose Bobby's first ever 19 to compare to RK's first 19.
The fairest comparison is like for like from last season to this.

The season does not last for 19 PL games. It is too early to say if RK is doing any better than RM. May I remind you in the last 18 PL games of RM, he took 18 points so we will have to wait and see how RK does with the next 19 PL games.

If you want to be fair compare it in May.

If you dont get why football fans are negative at times, perhaps football isnt for you.

Bang on Roydo. If any evertonian was happy with that performance yesterday (don't be fooled by the final result) they are either a WUM or have recently taken up following a football side because it's popular at the minute.

This board was and to be honest, still is, the place I come to read Everton stuff. Why has it become so toxic though?

I (and I`m sure there are others out there) am getting fed up of the negativity on here.

We, as Evertonians have been through some [Poor language removed] times, but we still love the club.

We are still one of the most successful teams in the world in terms of history and top flight football.

Criticism is part of the game, but the match threads in particular are an embarrassment.

Why is this?

COYB

We are not delegates at a Communist Party congress, merely there to clap and cheer.

This forum has lots of constructive criticism, some unconstructive, but all of it is made out of love for the club.

Fans are the soul of the club, without us there is nothing.

I think we can be hopeful of good times ahead, but we have a duty to be ambitious for the club, and point out the right direction, where we can.

We need success, we can't live off past glories.

Forgotten it already me.

Its like fretting about the state of the wallpaper while you are about to move to a new house.

Absolutely disagree that we were terrible yesterday. We started off poor yesterday but after their goal we played ok. Hit the woodwork twice. Came back from behind twice, their second goal was a gift from the ref and we would have won if he hadn't awarded that free kick.

Some people need to realise this is the top league in England and there are no easy games. The reason most people were so disappointed was because there was an arrogance around saying we should smash hull. Check out the rest of their home results this season. It shows its a tough place to go.

Now I can understand the frustration with koeman before the arsenal game because we were in wretched form. But the last four games have been an improvement and with the promise of new transfers forthcoming I can't really fathom the negativity. It's as though some people enjoy being negative or something.

Let's try to bring positivity to goodison on Monday and it could be the difference between a good result or not.

But I agree with the op 100% the negativity from our own fans actually seems to be our biggest problem and it really shouldn't be because it's actually a good time for the club at the moment.

Lastly all this talk about we are everton we should be battling for the title. I'm sure Leeds and villa are thinking the same thing and they battled out a match in the championship two nights ago. Stop criticising koeman and the players, get behind them and with the funding available let's see where it can take this everton.

Large portion of the aggressive negativity here is just people on the wind up. The rest are just a bit unhinged.

Most people can be downbeat about the team and club without being whoppers, so that makes it easy to spot who to put on ignore.

Or just swerve the whole thing if and when it gets on your tits.

How's is it not fair? It's the same team and players? It actually should give Martinez an edge in theory as he had the team for longer and had more time to work with them. Using his Last 19 means it shows where the team were right before koeman took over. It's like saying compare bobbys first 19 at Everton with koemans ... bobby was unbeaten or had lost one. You need to show where the team was when koeman took over in order to compare and see if there is improvement. Best way to do that is use his last 19 games... when they were at their worst.

we have players playing with a lack of energy and results seem to be a tough grind. if you get a sandwich full of excrement in a cafe are you expected to eat it with s smile on your face? its up to the players to breed excitement and positivity. this season is quickly turning into a non entity
