Why it's crucial to finish top 4 this year...

Just dont see us finishing above one of City, United, Cheslki + Arse. Sorry lads

I can't see why it's impossible to pip Arsenal to the finish. They don't do much for me without RVP. I know they spend big money, but something is missing there. They SHOULD finish above us, but that doesn't mean they will.

Regardless, we HAVE to find a way.

We can finish top 4. No reason we can't. We need a few things to go our way (Newcastle match for example) but we have world class players in multiple positions. Our first 11 hasn't been this balanced in a long time. A little depth and luck and we will be pushing the top 4.

Jelavic is back next week. Gibson could be back for the Wigan game, if not, after the international break.

Being honest, if we are in and around the 4th-6th spot come Jan there really isnt any reason to as why we cant mount a top 4 challenge with our usual 'Post Christmas Form'.

It is possible for us to get 4th spot, we have to be positive, but not too over-zealous.
One huge positive from the Swansea game is that we didn't have Gibson or Jelavic, and I was thinking before the game that we would only get a draw but Moyes got it spot on and Pienaar/Baines were incredible again, so was Anichebe!

The next couple of weeks could determine a lot, we have 3 fairly straight forward games coming soon. Southampton is a must win at home, Wigan away should be fairly straight forward (then a break) but away at QPR is a draw for me.
So that would leave us with 7 points out of 9 before Liverpool and we all know that if we beat Liverpool it might be a very special season this season. That would make a huge statement if we manage to beat Liverpool for once.

Winning a cup this year is as important as getting at least 5th, realistically I can't see us getting 4th as I know we'll struggle against Arsenal, City, United and Chelsea at their grounds. And we have to go to Anfield, when was the last time we won there?
But I'm actually excited to see some great football, sometimes shaky at the back but our attacking threat has made huge leaps since the start of last year, look how far we've come since then.

I don't see Fellaini going in January at all, if we were in amongst the top five by January and he went that would be a disaster even if we did get upwards of 20 million. If we do get Europa league football he might stay but I think we all know what he wants. Honestly I don't think anyone knows what will happen with him, but lets just wait until the end of the season for him to make up his mind.
I can see Moyes signing another contract, there are no jobs going around that are big enough for him, but when Fergie steps down (whenever that is) I think he will go.
2-0 for us at Leeds. COYB!

We'll finish 7th...we always finish 7th.

We wont pick up a cup.

We'll fail to beat a woeful Liverpool in another two (at least) Derbies.

Stop dreaming. We need strength in depth not 13/14 decent players. We need, therefore, what we've always needed: a change of ownership. There'll be no progress with Kenwright, Earl and Woods sitting on top of the club squeezing the life out of it waiting for their sheik to give them £40M each for their shares.

For now all the team can do now is try to stay in the mix until January, where we go from there is a question of coming out of the January transfer window on a positive or a negative.

Current squad, I think 5th.

I'll take a cup over top 4 because even if we do we'll get paired against Real Madrid in the qualifiers.

Only realistic chance to get top 4 is for Arsenal to have another winter swoon. Man Utd and City are too good to get near to. Chelsea will just reload with 50M + tap up Fellani during the winter transfer window if we are anywhere close to them.
